Our story
Built around a walk with Mom
It started with my mom. But it's for everyone's mom.
I spent over thirty years inside a Fortune 250 company — working my way from the mailroom to the executive suite, navigating restructurings, strategies, and everything in between. When that chapter finally closed, I didn't ask myself, “What's next?” I asked something quieter, something I'd been putting off for too long: “What actually matters?”
The answer didn't come from a boardroom or a business plan. It came from my mom. It started simply — just the two of us, lacing up our shoes and heading out for afternoon walks. New parks. Paved trails. The kind of unhurried conversations you can only have when you're side by side, moving slowly enough to actually listen. And always, without fail, an ice cream cone at the end. Those afternoons weren't something I scheduled. They were something I'd been missing without knowing it.
One day, my mom mentioned that her friends had been asking about our walks. They were envious — not just of the fresh air, but of the movement, the laughter, the sense of being part of something. In that small, offhand comment, I heard something much bigger.
Not long after, I was on my way to pick her up when my son called. I told him where I was headed and why. There was a pause, and then he said it plainly: “Mom, that's not just a walk. That's the kind of business you're looking to build.” I pulled over. Because he was right.
My husband and I had always dreamed of building something with real legacy — something with soul. We just never expected to find it on a sidewalk. But there it was. We realized the world talks endlessly about senior care, but rarely about senior wellness — the kind that comes from movement, from fresh air, from feeling seen and connected and alive.
That's why we built Stroll. Not from a gap in the market, but from a gap in our own lives — and the lives of so many families like ours. We took those simple afternoon walks and turned them into a scalable, meaningful service: one that bridges health and community, and transforms a stroll around the block into something far more powerful.
A lifeline for independence. A reminder that getting older doesn't mean slowing down on what matters most.
It started with my mom. But it's for everyone's mom.
