Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 2026

1. Data We Collect

We only collect what is necessary to run a safe walking club:

  • Identity Data: Name and age (to ensure you meet our senior membership criteria).
  • Contact Data: Email and phone number (handled by Clerk).
  • Location Data: GPS data during active strolls to provide safety tracking and route history.
  • Payment Data: We do not store credit card info; all transactions are processed securely by Stripe.

2. How We Share Your Data (Family Visibility)

Our “Family Visibility” feature is opt-in only.

  • The Goal: To provide peace of mind to your loved ones.
  • The Shared Data: If you opt-in, your designated family members can see your “Live Walk Status” and “Walk History.”
  • Control: You can revoke family access at any time through your privacy settings.

We do not sell this data to third-party advertisers.

3. Your 2026 Privacy Rights

Under the latest 2026 regulations, you have the following rights to control your data:

  • Right to Delete: You can request the permanent deletion of your data at any time.
  • Right to Correct: If your emergency contact or health info changes, you have the right to update it immediately.
  • 30-Day Breach Notification: In the unlikely event of a data breach, we are legally required to notify you within 30 calendar days of discovery.

4. Security Standards

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted at rest (on our Neon databases) and in transit (between your device and our servers).
  • Authentication: We use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) via Clerk to ensure only you and your authorized family members can access your account.

5. Data Minimization

We do not track you when the app is closed and you are not on an active stroll. We believe in “Purpose Limitation” — your data is used for walking and safety, not for digital profiling.
